Job Overview:
The Senior Officer, Financing Partnerships will be a key player in the Europe, Middle East and East Asia (EMEEA) team, focusing on developing and managing external financing strategies that align with the foundation's priorities. This role involves engaging with various stakeholders, including Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), philanthropic organizations, and private sector investors, to expand financing sources. The officer will be responsible for strategizing and mapping priority needs to potential capital sources, structuring opportunities, and leading collaborative deal teams to ensure successful delivery. The position requires close collaboration with various teams within the foundation, including the Philanthropic Partnerships Team and the Finance team, and will actively engage with the foundation’s Program Strategy Teams. This is a limited-term position for 24 months, based in London, and does not offer relocation support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Officer, Financing Partnerships include:
  • Opportunity Development: Engage with internal teams to understand external financing needs and advise on opportunities for non-grant finance.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key institutions, acting as the primary contact and ensuring partner satisfaction.
  • Partnership Execution: Shape and execute partnership strategies that align with the foundation’s goals, leading collaborative deal teams to drive successful transactions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to integrate partner goals and ensure a coordinated approach to partnership management.
  • Problem-Solving: Address challenges in partnerships proactively, providing solutions to strengthen relationships.
  • Measurement and Reporting: Evaluate partnership performance and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree, with a preference for a Master's or PhD in business, finance, science, government relations, or a related field. Extensive experience in strategizing and partnering with key institutions in EMEEA markets is essential. Candidates should have experience with development finance, managing multimillion investment portfolios, and leading financial transactions from negotiation to execution.
