This role involves receiving training on PCB assembly processes and understanding the specific quality requirements and acceptance criteria based on international standards. You will be responsible for quality inspection and validation of electronics modules produced by qualified contractors, as well as being involved in the procurement of electronic components for both internal production and subcontracted work. The position requires hands-on assembly of electronics modules using dedicated industrial processes, including manual soldering of surface-mount devices (SMD) and through-hole technology (THT) components. Additionally, you will assemble physic detectors by hand soldering SMD fine pitch connectors, ensuring that all work meets the high standards expected at CERN.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Electronics Technician include:
  • Conducting quality inspections and validations of electronics modules post-production to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Participating in the procurement process for electronic components, whether for internal production or subcontracted assembly.
  • Performing electronics modules assembly using specialized industrial processes.
  • Executing manual soldering of SMD and THT electronic components with precision.
  • Assembling physic detectors, which involves hand soldering of SMD fine pitch connectors.
  • Interpreting assembly files, bills of materials (BoMs), and related technical documentation to guide assembly processes.
  • Collaborating effectively with team members and contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Engaging in continuous learning to enhance skills in assembly processes and component procurement.
