Job Overview:
In this role, you will be an integral part of a major upgrade program for CERN's accelerator complex. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining, replacing, and installing beam instrumentation systems. This position requires hands-on work, where you will be involved in removing and installing equipment components across various accelerator facilities. You will also be responsible for tracking your interventions using CERN's management tools and coordinating on-site progress with engineers and technicians. Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties will include:
  • Removing equipment components for refurbishment or replacement as needed.
  • Installing new instrumentation systems and upgrades throughout the accelerator complex.
  • Tracking your tasks using CERN's management tools and providing updates during team meetings.
  • Coordinating with engineers, technicians, and other groups to ensure everyone is informed of on-site progress.
  • Working across different areas of CERN's accelerator facilities while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Ensuring precise and clean execution of technical interventions, particularly when working with sensitive electronic and electromechanical equipment.
  • Engaging in continuous learning and training on CERN-specific systems and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State. By the application deadline, you should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related field). Your highest educational qualification should be a general secondary education diploma. It is important to note that applicants who have previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract are not eligible for this position. Additionally, candidates with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree will not be considered for this role.
