It aims to promote an environment conducive to independent and pluralistic media, ensuring freedom of information and enhancing the capacities of journalists and media institutions.

Job Overview:
The Programme Assistant (G5) will play a crucial role in supporting the Media Programme Manager and the Media Programme team in the implementation of project activities related to Freedom of the Media. This position requires a blend of organizational and administrative skills, along with theoretical and practical knowledge. The successful candidate will assist in project planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, thereby contributing to the Mission’s goal of fostering a professional and responsible media environment that supports democratic dialogue and informed decision-making. The Programme Assistant will also serve as the primary focal point for the Media Programme’s IRMA/ORACLE system, ensuring effective project coordination and administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Assistant (G5) will be responsible for coordinating and supporting assigned projects, conducting needs assessments, developing project proposals and budgets, and monitoring project implementation. The role includes organizing meetings, conferences, and training events, as well as managing travel arrangements for team members and external participants. The Programme Assistant will draft reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation, ensuring accurate communication with various stakeholders, including government officials and international organizations. Additionally, the incumbent will maintain efficient correspondence in both English and local languages, providing translation and interpretation as needed, and ensuring proper documentation and archiving of project-related materials.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, supplemented by formal courses in administration, social sciences, project management, or related fields. A minimum of four years of relevant working experience, preferably with an international organization or government agency, is required. Professional fluency in English, along with excellent communication skills, is essential. Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of the media sector's challenges in Montenegro, proven project management skills, and the ability to conduct research and analyze information from various sources. Experience in organizing meetings and training events, as well as familiarity with ERP systems like Oracle E-Business Suite, is also necessary.

Educational Background:
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), with additional formal education in relevant fields such as administration, social sciences, or project management being advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in areas related to media and project management.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least four years of relevant experience in administrative roles, preferably within international organizations or governmental agencies. Experience in project management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation, is crucial. Candidates should also have a background in analytical and problem-solving activities, with the ability to conduct research and gather information effectively.

Languages:
Professional fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of local languages is highly desirable, as the Programme Assistant will be required to maintain correspondence and provide translation services in both English and the local language.

Additional Notes:
This position is a full-time, fixed-term contract at the G5 level, with a monthly remuneration of EUR 1,545.25, subject to social security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security deductions.
