The assignment is expected to last for a period of 10 months, during which the consultant will be responsible for delivering high-quality written content that meets the expectations of the UNDP.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
Conduct thorough research and analysis of relevant topics to inform speech content.
Collaborate with UNDP officials to understand their vision and objectives for each speech.
Draft, revise, and finalize speeches that are clear, persuasive, and tailored to the intended audience.
Ensure that all speeches reflect the values and priorities of the UNDP.
Provide recommendations for speech delivery and presentation techniques.
Attend meetings and briefings as necessary to gather information and insights for speech writing.
Respond to feedback from UNDP officials and make necessary revisions to speeches.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all communications and documents.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience in speech writing, communication, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear messages.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Familiarity with the UN system and understanding of international development issues is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in communications, political science, international relations, or a related field. Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in speech writing, public relations, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations or in a multicultural environment is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of producing high-quality written content for senior officials or executives.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the speeches will primarily be delivered in this language. Proficiency in English is also required, and knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the UNDP's work in the region.
Additional Notes: This is a contract position for a duration of 10 months. The consultant will work on a full-time basis and is expected to deliver speeches as per the requirements of the UNDP.
