Job Overview:
The role of the logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer is crucial for ensuring the daily, efficient, and quality implementation of logistics processes within the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). This position is responsible for managing procurement, transportation, storage, inventory, and other logistical services to support the effective execution of projects and optimize resource utilization. The Logistics Officer will work closely with various teams to ensure compliance with NRC policies, donor requirements, and operational standards. The position also involves providing technical support and guidance to logistics assistants, ensuring that all logistical activities align with the established action plan and contribute to the overall mission of NRC.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with NRC policies, manuals, procedures, and donor requirements. Key responsibilities include supporting the implementation of the logistics portfolio according to the established action plan, providing technical support to logistics assistants, acting as a focal point for procurement requests, coordinating the implementation of Framework Agreements with local suppliers, preparing and consolidating required logistics reports, and serving as backup for logistics assistants when necessary. The officer will also participate in planning and organizing logistics activities, monitor logistics processes conducted by assistants, and ensure timely delivery of services in accordance with NRC's Logistics Manual and donor requirements. Specific duties include managing and monitoring logistics operations, ensuring timely renewal of contracts, supervising supplier performance, managing assets and inventory, providing training and technical assistance to NRC staff, and executing other tasks as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a professional degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, International Business, or related fields. A minimum of three years of proven experience in a similar role is required, along with experience working in complex and changing contexts. Candidates should have a basic knowledge of the English language and demonstrate competencies related to logistics management in humanitarian contexts, including warehouse management, asset management, supply chain management, and transportation management. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with ERP software are also essential.

Educational Background:
The position requires a professional degree in a relevant field such as Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or International Business. Candidates should have a strong academic background that supports their understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles, as well as the ability to apply these principles in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in logistics roles, particularly in humanitarian settings. Experience in warehouse management, asset management, and supply chain management is essential. Additionally, candidates should have a proven track record of working effectively in challenging environments and adapting to changing circumstances.

Languages:
A basic knowledge of English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Spanish is essential, as the role will primarily be conducted in a Spanish-speaking environment. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly in regions where NRC operates.
