Job Overview: The Finance Associate position at WFP is crucial for ensuring effective financial support services within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct initial reviews and in-depth analyses of assigned Financial Accountability and Compliance Evaluations (FACEs).
Serve as the main communication point with cooperating partners to address inquiries and request additional information.
Coordinate with NGO and finance teams to ensure efficient communication.
Monitor the payment process of FACEs and ensure compliance with established deadlines.
Generate periodic reports on the status of FACEs, payments, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial management.
Conduct oversight visits and follow-ups in field offices.
Develop analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis tools and models to assess partner performance.
Collaborate with WFP technical teams to create tools that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of FACE reviews.
Participate in special projects aimed at improving financial processes, including the implementation of new systems or automation of tasks. 1
Provide training to partners on WFP's financial requirements and reporting best practices. 1
Manage documentation related to FACEs and maintain an updated database. 1
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a solid background in accounting or finance, with a completed bachelor's degree and proven experience in financial analysis. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with various teams and manage direct communication with external partners to clarify observations or request additional information. Proficiency in generating financial reports and KPIs, along with the ability to present results clearly to technical or management teams, is also required.

Experience: The position requires prior experience working with implementing partners (NGOs or UN agencies) in financial review, report verification, and monitoring disbursements. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in analyzing and tracking financial documents, including implementation plans, budgets, and reconciliations. Experience in budget tracking and financial monitoring of projects is essential, along with the ability to coordinate with multiple teams and manage direct communication with external partners.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, with advanced proficiency required. Basic knowledge of English is desirable, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders.
