Job Overview: The Shelter/WASH Officer (CCCM) position is crucial for the qualitative implementation of NRC’s Shelter and WASH programs in targeted displacement sites in Yemen. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Shelter/WASH Officer include adhering to NRC policies and guidelines, assisting with the implementation of the shelter/WASH portfolio, preparing technical status reports, developing weekly work plans, ensuring proper filing of technical documents, and promoting technical improvements in Shelter/WASH programming. The officer will actively participate in capacity-building trainings and ensure gender and protection mainstreaming at the field level. Specific responsibilities include providing technical support and leadership to partners and communities, supervising local implementing partners, supporting strategy development for Shelter/WASH, monitoring implementation and performance, building partnerships with local authorities and community members, overseeing technical assessments, and ensuring accountability for Shelter/WASH documentation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, engineering, or humanitarian studies. They should have at least one year of experience supervising, monitoring, and mentoring local implementing partners, as well as two years of experience in IDP site management. Previous experience in complex and volatile contexts is essential, along with documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of Shelter/WASH construction project implementation are required, along with proven experience in producing technical and progress reports.
Educational Background: A university degree in a relevant field is required for this position. Relevant fields may include social sciences, engineering, humanitarian studies, or related disciplines. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of the humanitarian context and the technical aspects of Shelter/WASH programming.
