The primary function of this position is to develop and manage a robust pipeline of partnerships with corporations, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) to secure financial commitments and multi-year contracts. The associate will work closely with the Assistant PPH Officer and collaborate with global and regional colleagues to enhance fundraising efforts. This role requires a dynamic individual who can navigate the complexities of corporate fundraising and business development in Brazil, leveraging opportunities to expand the organization's donor base and enhance its impact.
Duties and Responsibilities: The PPH Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including supporting outreach and engagement with PPH donors, drafting compelling proposals and reports, conducting research on potential partners, and maintaining up-to-date records in the Salesforce database. The associate will assist in the strategic development of UNHCR's engagement with the private sector, prepare materials for meetings with prospects, and support donor cultivation and stewardship efforts. Additionally, the role involves monitoring the local fundraising environment, identifying new prospects, and ensuring compliance with UNHCR's due diligence procedures. The associate will also support the organization of donor missions, workshops, and networking events, and assist in the creation of promotional materials for fundraising campaigns targeting PPH donors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess relevant professional experience in corporate fundraising, business development, or high-value fundraising, with a proven track record of securing corporate donations and multi-year partnerships. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with partners and donors are essential. The candidate should demonstrate experience in producing high-quality written materials tailored to donor stewardship and have the ability to manage competing needs and deadlines effectively. Familiarity with the UN environment and experience in a developing country are desirable, along with knowledge of humanitarian programming and UNHCR's operational arrangements.
Educational Background: The position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma with three years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant work experience. Candidates should have educational backgrounds in fields such as Marketing, Communications, International Relations, Economics, Business Administration, or Social Sciences. Relevant certifications in fundraising or related areas are also beneficial.
Experience: Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in a similar role, particularly in an international environment or with humanitarian organizations. Experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing time effectively in high-pressure situations is crucial.
