Job Overview: The Health and Wellness Coordinator position at the IRC in Dallas is a pivotal role that focuses on overseeing a variety of administrative projects aimed at enhancing the capacity of the Health & Wellness Department. Duties and Responsibilities: The Health and Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: proposing, designing, and implementing initiatives that enhance the experience of staff, clients, and community partners; supporting the Health & Wellness Program Manager with program design, development, and evaluation; maintaining project timelines and plans for assigned tasks; identifying and cultivating strategic community relationships to promote program visibility and access to resources; representing the department in internal and external meetings; training and managing interns and department staff as needed; participating in departmental interviews and onboarding processes; collaborating with program leadership on client satisfaction and feedback efforts; supporting the development of feedback action plans; and actively engaging with local refugee and diaspora communities to raise awareness of community issues.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Health and Wellness Coordinator position should possess an undergraduate degree or comparable work experience in fields such as health, communication, human services, non-profit administration, or project management. Experience or education in International Studies is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant professional work experience, particularly in areas related to project management, program administration, and trauma-informed practice. Lived experience with displacement or the immigration system, or previous experience working with immigrants and refugees, is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate outstanding communication skills, goal-setting abilities, and analytical problem-solving skills, along with a self-starter attitude and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as health, communication, human services, non-profit administration, project management, or a related area. Candidates with comparable work experience may also be considered. A strong preference is given to those with education in International Studies, reflecting the organization's commitment to understanding global issues related to displacement and immigration.
