Job Overview:
The Financial Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating financial and accounting operations for the Strengthening Infections Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) Activity in Vietnam. This position involves comprehensive financial management, including monitoring and analyzing financial data, preparing budget analyses, and ensuring compliance with funding agency requirements. The Financial Coordinator will provide high-level analytical expertise and support to senior management and field operations, guiding financial success through strategic initiatives and strong customer relationships. The role requires a proactive approach to analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, performance tracking, and presenting results to stakeholders, ensuring that the financial health of the project is maintained and enhanced.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Financial Coordinator will be responsible for analyzing budget forecasts and regulatory filings, compiling complex data, and ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal statutes. The role includes developing and maintaining effective working relationships with various stakeholders, interpreting discrepancies in financial data, and applying updated information technology to facilitate program goals. The Financial Coordinator will deliver formal presentations tailored to the audience's needs, educate relevant parties about programs and procedures, and interact with industry representatives to resolve issues. Additionally, the position involves documenting complex issues, reviewing and editing the work of others, and presenting oral and written testimony on financial matters. The Financial Coordinator will utilize financial systems to produce reports, financial models, and databases, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of financial management principles, investment capital, risk analysis, and legal compliance related to the industry. Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal control fundamentals is essential. The role requires excellent oral and written communication skills, strong quantitative and analytical abilities, and the capacity to motivate and collaborate effectively with others. The Financial Coordinator should be adept at analyzing and interpreting financial data, identifying errors, and preparing comprehensive reports.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent is required for this position. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training in finance, accounting, or a related field, providing a solid foundation for the financial management responsibilities of the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have 5 to 8 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, and operational management, particularly in a government contracting environment. Familiarity with U.S. Government grants, contracting, and auditing standards is preferred, as it relates to the effective management of multi-year funds. Experience in non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government, or the private sector is also advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with the ability to read, write, and speak clearly and professionally. Additional language skills may be considered beneficial but are not required for this position.

This position is based in a typical office environment, with the expectation of spending long hours at a computer and performing repetitive tasks. The role may require the ability to lift or move up to 5 lbs. Travel requirements are minimal, estimated at less than 10%.
