Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteer will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the supervision of the REACH Africa focal point. Key responsibilities include:
Developing standardized visual templates for toolkits, guidance documents, social media infographics, presentations, briefs, and fact sheets.
Designing visual assets for preparedness materials, promotional infographics for podcasts, and digital branding materials for events.
Supporting the layout and formatting of reports, concept notes, digital toolkits, and photo book layouts.
Ensuring all designs align with WHO brand guidelines, maintaining consistent typography, color schemes, and visual identity.
Delivering print-ready and digital-ready formats as required, and providing editable source files for all materials created.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong graphic design skills, with proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). A good understanding of visual communication principles and experience in creating digital and print materials is essential. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines is also required. Familiarity with WHO branding guidelines and experience in the health sector would be advantageous.
Educational Background: A background in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have completed or be pursuing a degree in design or a similar discipline, demonstrating a solid understanding of design principles and practices.
Experience: The position is suitable for individuals with varying levels of experience in graphic design. While prior experience in a similar role is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Candidates should be able to showcase a portfolio of previous design work that reflects their skills and creativity.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communication and materials will be produced in this language. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the African context, would be considered an asset but is not required.
