Job Overview:
The Audit / Compliance Supervisor will work under the supervision of the C&R Manager and will play a crucial role in supporting the department with internal and external audits, as well as investigations. This position is integral to the dissemination of Solidarités International’s internal procedures and tools, contributing to the implementation of best practices across the mission. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal policies, donor regulations, and established best practices, which includes reviewing internal controls, performing spot checks, and following up on prior audit recommendations. Additionally, the role involves assisting in investigations related to field offices outside of the supervisor's base and contributing to capacity building for SI teams, particularly in fraud prevention and addressing audit findings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main tasks of the Audit / Compliance Supervisor include supporting the Conformity Manager in implementing recommendations from audits and investigations, updating the audit observations follow-up tracker, and performing systematic compliance reviews of selected projects. The supervisor will also collect and prepare documents for external audits, conduct pre-audits of expenses documentation, and participate in audit meetings. Furthermore, the supervisor will assist in disseminating good practices, including the whistleblowing policy and anti-fraud policy, and will support investigations by collecting evidence and conducting interviews while maintaining confidentiality. The role may also involve additional responsibilities as requested by the Conformity Manager.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field. Experience in the humanitarian sector is preferred, with 1-2 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years in a similar position being required. Technical skills such as being a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) are preferred. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, capable of understanding the big picture, and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and beneficiaries. They should also be able to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding financial principles and compliance requirements essential for the role.

Experience:
The position requires 1-2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a preference for candidates who have 2-5 years of experience in a similar role. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the complexities of compliance and audit processes within humanitarian operations.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not specified as a requirement.
