Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst plays a crucial role in analyzing and assessing global, regional, and national trends in political, social, and economic contexts, which guide the delivery of UNFPA initiatives in family planning and supply chain management. This position involves project design, implementation, evaluation, and collaboration with various stakeholders, including government entities, civil society, and the private sector. The incumbent will work within the Ghana Country Office to enhance national and community systems for delivering high-quality sexual and reproductive health care services. The role requires a commitment to ethical standards and the ability to inspire and mobilize resources effectively in a rapidly changing development landscape. The Programme Analyst will report to the UNFPA Programme Specialist for Sexual Reproductive Health and Humanitarian initiatives, ensuring alignment with national development frameworks and UNFPA's strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst will engage in policy dialogue with government and development partners, ensuring that family planning and supply chain initiatives are integrated into relevant policies and strategies. Responsibilities include providing technical support for the development and implementation of national policies, strategies, and guidelines in family planning. The incumbent will advocate for increased government budget allocations for family planning, engage with private sector partners, and support the integration of evidence-based practices into national systems. Additionally, the Programme Analyst will manage the UNFPA Supplies Partnership Programme, oversee quality programme delivery, and contribute to monitoring and reporting on maternal health initiatives. The role also involves supervising the SRH Unit Programme Assistant, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Public Health, Medicine, or a related social science field. A minimum of five years of professional experience in reproductive health is required, with a strong background in programme and project management, particularly in large multi-sector projects. Experience in designing, monitoring, and evaluating development projects is essential, and prior experience within the UN system is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based ERP management systems is necessary, and familiarity with health financing is a plus.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a Master's degree in Public Health, Medicine, or a related field. This advanced degree is essential for understanding the complexities of reproductive health and the socio-economic factors that influence health outcomes.

Experience:
The position requires at least five years of professional experience in the field of reproductive health, with a focus on programme and project management. Candidates should have experience in designing and appraising proposals, liaising with project partners, and managing multi-sector projects. Field experience is considered an asset, as is prior experience in the UN system, which can provide valuable insights into international development practices.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other official UN languages, particularly French, is desirable and can enhance communication with diverse stakeholders.
