Job Overview:
The Senior Paid Media Assistant will play a crucial role in the management and execution of paid media campaigns primarily for Canada, with potential support for other markets as needed. This position requires a strong understanding of various digital marketing channels, including social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube), search engines (Google Ads and Microsoft Ads), and programmatic advertising. The individual will work closely with the Digital Paid Media Marketing Officer to develop and implement effective digital marketing strategies, optimize campaigns for better performance, and analyze data to ensure positive return on investment (ROI). The role also involves collaborating with internal teams and external partners to enhance the organization's digital marketing capabilities and support fundraising initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Paid Media Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Manage and execute paid media campaigns across various platforms, ensuring effective targeting and optimization.
  • Build out media buys and oversee day-to-day execution of campaigns, primarily focusing on Canada.
  • Conduct keyword and website research to optimize campaigns for better performance.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and collaborate with internal teams to find solutions.
  • Analyze campaign performance data and present results to stakeholders.
  • Assist in forecasting and provide support to team members in campaign planning.
  • Work with third-party partners and agencies to implement new digital marketing solutions.
  • Generate innovative ideas to improve campaign efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the Digital Paid Media Marketing Officer in developing training materials and conducting training sessions on paid media across the organization. 1
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies to enhance the organization's digital marketing efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 1 year of relevant work experience. A Google Marketing Certification is considered an added advantage. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing paid media campaigns across major digital channels, including Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, GDN, and DV36
  • Experience in programmatic display campaigns and advertising operations, including tag creation and trafficking, is also required. Familiarity with the Google Marketing Platform stack and web analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, is essential for developing effective marketing strategies.

Educational Background:
A High School Diploma is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field. The educational background should include coursework or training related to digital marketing, advertising, or communications, which will provide the necessary foundation for the responsibilities of the Senior Paid Media Assistant.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience if they hold a High School Diploma, or at least 1 year of relevant work experience if they possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher. This experience should include managing paid media campaigns across various digital channels, demonstrating a solid understanding of digital performance marketing, conversion strategies, and online donor acquisition. Proven case studies of successful campaigns and experience working with large data sets to develop effective marketing strategies are highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of one or more UN languages is highly desirable, as it will enhance the candidate's ability to work in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment.

Additional Notes:
This position can be home-based in North, South, or Central America, providing flexibility for candidates in these regions. The role does not require a functional clearance, and it is classified as remote. The position is categorized under UNOPS LICA5, indicating a level of seniority and responsibility within the organization.
