Job Overview:
The Senior Fundraising Assistant (PPH) position is integral to the UNHCR France operation within the Private Sector Partnerships Services. The role requires a dynamic and proactive individual who can work independently and collaboratively within a team. The primary focus of this position is to increase private sector fundraising income in France and Monaco by cultivating existing partnerships and securing new strategic accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and engaging a portfolio of philanthropists, creating tailored content, organizing events, and managing high-quality relationships with donors. This role is aligned with the PSP Global strategy and emphasizes the importance of Private Partnerships and Philanthropy (PPH) fundraising, which includes working with corporates, corporate foundations, high-net-worth individuals (HWNI), and private foundations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Fundraising Assistant (PPH) will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: managing a full prospect pipeline through research and networking; developing brand-compliant reports, proposals, and pitches for existing and new partners; creating cultivation plans and stewardship materials to retain current supporters; communicating timely information about UNHCR's programs to donors; adhering to UNHCR's due diligence screening policies for partnerships; supporting the implementation of local and global campaigns; responding strategically to PPH prospects during humanitarian emergencies; exploring new fundraising opportunities; collaborating with PSP teams and external relations; and performing any other tasks as required by the Snr PPH Associate.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma, with a preference for those holding a university degree in Business/Marketing, Communication, International Relations, or a related field. A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required, or one year if the candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree or higher. Experience in private sector fundraising, particularly with corporates and foundations, is highly desirable. Knowledge of corporate social responsibility (CSR), marketing, and communication techniques is essential, along with familiarity with private sector fundraising strategies and the French private sector landscape. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary education (high school diploma) and preferably a degree from a UNESCO accredited university in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Communication, or International Relations. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of fundraising and partnership development within the context of a global humanitarian organization.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least two years of relevant work experience in fundraising or a related field. If the candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree or higher, a minimum of one year of relevant experience is acceptable. Experience in private sector fundraising, particularly with corporates and foundations, is considered an asset. Candidates should also demonstrate a proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment, showcasing their capability to meet short-term deadlines while maintaining a courteous and service-oriented approach.

Languages:
Fluency in both French and English is essential for this position, as the role involves communication with diverse stakeholders and partners. Proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus, although not mandatory. The ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written forms in these languages is crucial for successful relationship management and fundraising efforts.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in UNHCR’s office in Paris, France, and is associated with a yearly contract that may be renewed annually. It is a full-time role with standard working hours from 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. The salary for this position aligns with the local UN (General Service) GS Salary scale.
