Job Overview: The UNV HPV Vaccine Introduction Junior Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) in Lebanon, specifically within the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) Department. This position involves providing programmatic, administrative, and coordination support for the introduction of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine into the national immunization program. The coordinator will assist in the planning, implementation, training, and monitoring of activities related to the HPV vaccine, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders, and maintaining accurate documentation and reporting of project activities. The role requires a proactive approach to facilitate training sessions, organize meetings, and track progress on deliverables, all while adhering to the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Junior Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Supporting the preparation and follow-up of project workplans, timelines, and activity trackers.
Assisting in organizing meetings, trainings, and coordination activities, including preparing agendas, participant lists, and minutes, as well as tracking follow-up actions.
Coordinating with stakeholders such as MOPH departments, WHO, UNICEF, and other partners to monitor progress on agreed actions and deliverables.
Compiling relevant data for reporting purposes and writing progress reports, summaries, and documentation related to HPV vaccine introduction activities.
Maintaining organized project files and documentation, including meeting minutes, reports, correspondence, and deliverables.
Supporting the implementation of the training plan, including identifying target groups, scheduling training sessions, and determining locations and modalities.
Facilitating training sessions for medical professionals using approved training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Documenting training reports that detail the number of sessions delivered, participants trained, challenges encountered, and recommendations for follow-up and supportive supervision.
Performing any other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor in line with the role.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proficiency in project management and coordination is essential, along with a commitment to the principles of public health and community service. Familiarity with immunization programs and health systems is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability, creativity, and professionalism in their approach to work, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Educational Background: A degree in public health, health administration, or a related field is required. Additional training or certifications in project management, immunization programs, or health systems would be advantageous. Candidates should have a solid understanding of health policies and practices, particularly in the context of immunization and public health initiatives.
Experience: The position requires prior experience in project coordination, public health, or related fields. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations. Experience in training facilitation and capacity building within health programs is also beneficial. Familiarity with the Lebanese health system and immunization practices will be considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory, as these are the primary languages of communication within the organization and with stakeholders. Proficiency in French or other languages would be considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a broader range of partners and resources.
Additional Notes: This is a national UN Volunteer assignment based in Beirut, Lebanon. The UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The position offers a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of USD 1,606.56, along with annual and learning leaves, medical and life insurance, and free access to various learning platforms. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adapt to the prevailing culture and traditions in Lebanon.
