Job Overview: The Finance Lead will play a critical role in delivering financial leadership for donor-funded programs across Sudan. This position requires a strong focus on budget management, compliance with donor regulations, and the establishment of robust internal controls. The Finance Lead will be responsible for producing timely financial reports, conducting burn rate analyses, and preparing forecasts. Additionally, the role involves supporting audits and donor reviews, collaborating closely with country finance teams and field staff to ensure accurate cost allocation and reliable documentation flow. This position is field-based and entails frequent travel to various locations within Sudan, emphasizing the need for adaptability and strong financial acumen in a dynamic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance Lead will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Providing dedicated financial management and oversight for donor-funded budgets across all implementation states in Sudan.
Ensuring strict compliance with donor financial regulations, internal controls, and cost eligibility rules.
Preparing accurate financial reports, burn rate analyses, and forecasts to support decision-making processes.
Supporting audits, reviews, and addressing donor financial queries related to donor funding.
Coordinating closely with country-level finance teams and field staff to ensure accurate cost allocation and documentation flow.
Maintaining high standards of financial integrity and accountability throughout all financial operations.
Engaging in proactive communication with stakeholders to facilitate smooth financial operations and reporting.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess professional experience managing donor-funded financial operations, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial regulations, internal controls, and cost eligibility requirements. The ideal candidate will have proven capabilities in producing accurate financial reports, forecasts, and burn rate analyses under tight deadlines.
