The Senior Director will oversee technical and operational planning, manage grants, and ensure compliance with donor requirements while facilitating communication among partners and senior leadership. Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Director will establish and lead internal governance and communication protocols for the HECO PFP initiative, acting as the primary connector among stakeholders, including WWF-US teams, WWF Colombia, implementing partners, and donors. Responsibilities include supporting the HECO program leader, coordinating with internal partners, managing grants, preparing technical reports, and providing project updates to senior leadership. The role also involves advising on donor fund disbursement conditions, serving on technical committees, and ensuring effective management of the HECO program through collaboration with various partners and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a graduate degree and at least 12 years of work experience, including a minimum of 6 years in large, complex conservation program/project management and conservation finance. Proven experience in leading publicly financed conservation programs in Central or South America is essential. Strong project management skills, operational planning, and financial management expertise are required, along with the ability to navigate the socio-political contexts of Latin America, particularly Colombia. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams are also necessary.
Educational Background: A graduate degree in a relevant field is required, although equivalent experience may substitute for formal education. The candidate should have a strong background in conservation finance and project management, with a focus on large-scale conservation initiatives.
Experience: The position requires at least 12 years of relevant work experience, with a significant portion in conservation program management and finance.
