Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position within the Office of Markets Development and Public-Private Partnership (OMDP) Advisory Division 2 (OMDA2) focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance due diligence and project agreements for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the integration of AI into the operational processes of PPP projects, which includes streamlining assessments and improving documentation quality. The role requires analytical skills to identify tasks suitable for AI automation, as well as the ability to conduct research on AI applications in PPP development. The intern will also be responsible for preparing structured inputs, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting pilot testing of AI-assisted tools, thereby contributing to the advancement of innovative solutions in public sector processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the use of AI in PPP projects. These include:
  • Supporting analytical and operational work to integrate AI into PPP due diligence and documentation processes.
  • Identifying tasks where AI can automate or enhance assessments.
  • Analyzing PPP agreements and risk frameworks.
  • Preparing and validating structured inputs for AI applications.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to facilitate the integration of AI tools.
  • Conducting research on AI use in PPP project development and analyzing existing frameworks.
  • Reviewing PPP agreements for AI-relevant clauses.
  • Designing, classifying, and tagging PPP documents to extract key data for AI inputs.
  • Mapping current PPP due diligence workflows and proposing AI-enabled enhancements to reduce manual effort. 1
  • Assisting in researching clause libraries and risk-allocation templates for AI-powered contract analysis. 1
  • Preparing presentation materials on AI use cases and maintaining organized repositories of research, datasets, and documentation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in a relevant field such as public-private partnerships, infrastructure development, economics, public policy, finance, engineering, or related disciplines. Strong analytical and research skills are essential, along with a comfort level with structured data. An interest in AI, digital tools, and innovation in public sector processes is highly desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are mandatory, as the intern will be required to communicate findings and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in fields that are relevant to the work of the ADB, particularly those aligned with public-private partnerships, infrastructure development, economics, public policy, finance, engineering, or related disciplines. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of PPP projects and the integration of AI technologies.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have relevant research experience with private sector financial institutions, experience in the infrastructure sector, or involvement in the development of AI tools and agents.
