Job Overview:

The intern will be tasked with assessing the potential for nuclear power deployment in selected ADB developing member countries (DMCs) over the next decade. This role involves conducting thorough research and analysis on projected power demand, supply gaps, and trends in the generation mix of these countries. The intern will review national energy plans and policy documents to evaluate the long-term needs of their power systems. The position requires a comprehensive examination of various factors, including technical, economic, environmental, and regulatory aspects that could influence the feasibility of introducing nuclear power in each context. The intern will synthesize findings into analytical notes and draft sections of a technical report, as well as support the preparation of presentations and other knowledge products as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a range of responsibilities, including: conducting research and analysis on power generation requirements in selected ADB DMCs; reviewing national energy plans, policy documents, and sector reports; examining technical, economic, environmental, and regulatory factors affecting nuclear power feasibility; preparing comparative assessments that highlight opportunities, risks, and enabling conditions for nuclear power adoption; synthesizing findings into clear analytical notes and summaries; drafting sections of a technical report; and supporting the preparation of presentations and briefing materials for internal ADB audiences.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in any discipline of engineering. A good understanding of power system modeling and energy economics is essential. Strong analytical and research skills are required, along with the ability to review technical and policy documents effectively. The intern should be capable of synthesizing complex information into clear, well-structured written outputs. Familiarity with issues in the Asian energy sector or the contexts of ADB DMCs is desirable. Additionally, candidates should preferably have 2-3 years of relevant professional experience and demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in any engineering discipline. This educational background is crucial as it provides the necessary technical knowledge and analytical skills required for the internship.

Experience:
