Job Overview:

The intern will engage in various activities related to blended concessional finance and parallel fund transaction processing. This role is designed to provide the intern with practical experience in the financial sector, particularly in the context of multilateral development banks. The intern will work closely with Fund Managers and Blended Finance Officers, assisting in the origination, processing, and management of blended finance operations. The position offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the workings of development finance, including the preparation of internal documentation, transaction processing, and partner reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: assisting with transaction processing activities by conducting background financial and sector research, compiling data, and providing analytical support; supporting the preparation of internal documentation for blended concessional finance and parallel investment transactions, which may include creating concept materials, processing notes, presentations, and briefing documents; contributing to portfolio monitoring and partner reporting requirements for blended finance facilities and parallel funds, which involves data verification and drafting written materials; coordinating with internal teams and external partners as necessary, including following up on information requests; and performing other ad-hoc analytical and administrative tasks related to blended finance and funds operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in finance, banking, accounting, economics, international relations, public policy, climate studies, or a closely related discipline. Additionally, candidates should possess strong analytical and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a multicultural, team-based environment.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this internship is that candidates must be currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in relevant fields such as finance, banking, accounting, economics, international relations, public policy, climate studies, or closely related disciplines. This educational background is crucial as it provides the theoretical foundation necessary for understanding the complexities of blended finance and development banking.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should preferably have 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
