Job Overview: The Project Coordinator position is critical for the effective implementation of FAO's projects in Eritrea, focusing on enhancing agricultural productivity and food security. The incumbent will be responsible for leading and coordinating various project activities, ensuring they align with FAO's strategic objectives and the needs of stakeholders. This role requires a proactive approach to managing project budgets, data collection, and analysis, as well as providing technical support to ensure timely completion of project activities. Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Coordinator will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to: leading the planning and implementation of project activities; monitoring project budgets and ensuring compliance with financial rules; collecting and analyzing data related to FAO activities; assisting in the development of work and travel plans; facilitating communication within the project team; coordinating stakeholder engagement activities; organizing technical workshops and training sessions; supporting monitoring and evaluation frameworks; maintaining organized project documentation; overseeing procurement requests; providing technical assistance in preparing contractual agreements; drafting reports and correspondence related to project activities; and executing any other related tasks as required by management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Agriculture, Agro-forestry, Fisheries, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Development Studies, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of five years of relevant experience in project management, particularly in agriculture or food security-related initiatives, is required. Proficiency in English at level C is mandatory, and candidates must be nationals of Eritrea, providing evidence of completion or exemption from National Services.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Agro-forestry, Fisheries, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Development Studies, Business Administration, or Project Management. The degree must be obtained from an institution accredited or recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in project management, particularly in areas related to agriculture and food security.
