Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position within the Corporate Services Department (CSD) and Institutional Services Division (CSIS) at the Asian Development Bank focuses on the evaluation of the Audiovisual Archives collection. The intern will be responsible for assessing and analyzing the current conditions of the ADB Archives Multimedia Collection. This includes researching best practices and international standards, identifying gaps and redundancies, and exploring opportunities for improvement in the management of the collection. The intern will also investigate applicable technologies for the conversion and storage of digital multimedia, and carry out any other tasks related to the project as assigned. The internship is expected to last for 11 weeks, starting in June 2026, and will culminate in an assessment report and recommendations on the management and preservation activities of the Archives Multimedia Collection.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assess and analyze the current conditions of the ADB Archives Multimedia Collection.
  • Research best practices and international standards related to audiovisual archives.
  • Identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement in the management of the collection.
  • Explore applicable technologies for the conversion and storage of digital multimedia.
  • Prepare an assessment report and recommendations based on findings.
  • Propose guidelines and templates for archival management, including condition report forms and inventory forms.
  • Compile an internship final report and presentation summarizing overall activities conducted during the internship.
  • Carry out any other tasks related to the project as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in Art and Museum Studies, History, Archival Science, Information Science, Film Studies, Audiovisual preservation, or a related field at an institution in an ADB member country.
  • Experience in research, particularly in galleries, libraries, archives, or museums.
  • Experience with archival inventory, categorization, or digital conversion projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong drafting and communication skills in English.
  • Interest in photography and audiovisual media.
  • Prior internship or work experience in international organizations or cultural institutions is desirable.
  • Preferably with 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in relevant fields such as Art and Museum Studies, History, Archival Science, Information Science, Film Studies, or Audiovisual preservation. The educational institution must be located in an ADB member country, ensuring that the intern has a strong academic foundation relevant to the tasks they will undertake during the internship.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience, particularly in research settings such as galleries, libraries, archives, or museums. Experience with archival inventory, categorization, or digital conversion projects is highly desirable. Candidates should ideally have 2-3 years of relevant professional experience, which may include prior internships or work in international organizations or cultural institutions, demonstrating their capability to contribute effectively to the project.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, with strong drafting and communication skills required. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but English is the primary language of communication within the organization and for the tasks involved in this internship.
