Job Overview:

The intern will engage in various tasks that include conducting desk research and comparative analysis of data management strategies and organizational models. The role requires the intern to analyze industry best practices in data analytics, particularly in relation to the needs of sovereign and non-sovereign operations. The intern will also be responsible for consulting with internal stakeholders to identify challenges in implementing a unified data management framework. The ultimate goal is to develop a comprehensive data management policy and framework that enhances the data analytics maturity of peer institutions. The internship is expected to provide valuable insights and recommendations through a detailed report, which may include visual dashboards or presentations for internal discussions and strategic planning.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct desk research on data management strategies and organizational models from peer institutions.
  • Perform comparative analysis of data analytics maturity across selected organizations.
  • Analyze industry best practices tailored to the data needs of both sovereign and non-sovereign operations.
  • Engage in consultations with internal stakeholders to understand challenges related to data management frameworks.
  • Develop a structured data management policy and framework to enhance data analytics maturity.
  • Synthesize research findings into a comprehensive report with actionable recommendations.
  • Create visual dashboards or presentations to facilitate internal knowledge-sharing.
  • Support BIOC's mandate to improve ADB's data management capabilities through structured benchmarking studies.
  • Gain hands-on experience in institutional research, survey design, and comparative analysis.

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, Business Analytics, Development Studies, or related fields.
  • Previous experience in research or data analysis is preferred.
  • Familiarity with multilateral organizations is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in programming and data analysis tools such as Python, SQL, or R.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in relevant fields such as Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, Business Analytics, or Development Studies. This educational background is essential to ensure that the intern possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills required for the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have previous experience in research, data analysis, or relevant work with multilateral organizations. While not mandatory, having 2-3 years of relevant professional experience is preferable, as it would enhance the intern's ability to contribute effectively to the tasks at hand and understand the operational context of ADB.

Languages:
