Job Overview:
The Regional Coordination Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Regional Director of the IOM Regional Office for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in Cairo. This position involves coordinating activities and agendas within the Regional Director’s Office and managing policy and strategy development and implementation. The officer will provide high-level administrative support to the Regional Director, participate in the development of corporate and strategic objectives, and support the Executive Senior Management Team on various projects. The role requires the preparation of reports, correspondence, and presentations, as well as overseeing the implementation of decisions made by the Regional Director. The officer will also be responsible for updating and finalizing strategic reports, coordinating work with various departments, and representing the MENA Regional Office in key internal meetings and policy discussions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Regional Coordination Officer include coordinating the activities and agenda within the Regional Director’s Office, providing high-level administrative support, participating in the development of corporate and strategic objectives, preparing reports and presentations, overseeing the implementation of decisions, updating strategic reports, coordinating the Internal Government Framework Work stems, monitoring and reporting on strategic topics, and ensuring coherence and consistency in policy and strategy developments. The officer will also support data collection, results-based management, and evaluation functions, deliver accurate meeting agendas and minutes, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Business Management, Social Science, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with five years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a University degree in the aforementioned fields with seven years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Candidates should have experience working with governmental authorities and NGOs, delivering high-quality products under tight deadlines, and working in a multicultural setting. Knowledge of global migration issues is also essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as International Relations, Political Science, Business Management, Social Science, or Economics. A University degree in these fields is acceptable if accompanied by additional years of relevant professional experience. The educational qualifications must be from an accredited academic institution.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have significant experience in liaising with governmental authorities and other national/international institutions, particularly on sensitive issues. Candidates should have a proven track record of delivering high-quality products within short timeframes, such as speeches and analyses, and experience working in a multicultural environment. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in global migration issues are also critical for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, both oral and written. Knowledge of Arabic and/or French is considered an advantage. The proficiency in required languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
The position is internationally recruited, and staff members are required to be mobile. The selection process may be used to fill similar positions in various duty stations. Candidates endorsed by the Appointments and Postings Board will remain eligible for appointment in similar positions for a period of 24 months.
