Job Overview:
The role of Asistente Alojamiento e Infraestructura / Agua, Saneamiento e Higiene is crucial in implementing humanitarian services related to housing, infrastructure, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) in the Darién region. The primary objective is to ensure that affected individuals have access to adequate temporary, transitional, and permanent housing solutions, as well as educational facilities and community infrastructure. The assistant will work to improve health conditions and ensure the right to water and sanitation for affected populations. This includes facilitating access to safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene supplies, thereby enhancing safety, protection, health, and dignity. The position requires adherence to NRC's strategic frameworks and operational strategies, ensuring that all activities align with the organization's mission and goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente Alojamiento e Infraestructura / Agua, Saneamiento e Higiene will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: ensuring compliance with NRC policies and guidelines; supporting the implementation of the Housing and Infrastructure Program portfolio according to the action plan; preparing and developing reports for management; maintaining proper documentation; promoting ideas to strengthen support functions; implementing procedures and activities as delegated; developing knowledge in the area of work to enhance support effectiveness; organizing and executing tasks based on priorities and standards; resolving daily problems according to agreed procedures; providing efficient and timely AeI and WASH services; promoting community participation in emergency assistance and durable solutions; conducting needs assessments and surveys; utilizing communication materials on housing and WASH topics; facilitating information sessions and workshops; distributing non-food items and cash transfers; participating in impact measurement exercises; supporting monitoring and documentation of project activities; and providing necessary information for beneficiary databases and project indicators.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a combination of professional competencies and behavioral competencies. Professional qualifications include prior experience through internships or university practices, work experience in support functions within humanitarian contexts, and proven experience related to the responsibilities of the position. Knowledge of English is beneficial. Specific skills and knowledge in architecture, engineering, or related fields are valued, along with experience in housing projects, educational facilities, and community infrastructure. Familiarity with national and international humanitarian standards, territorial planning, and WASH methodologies is essential. Behavioral competencies include the ability to manage insecure environments, plan and achieve results, empower and build trust, and communicate effectively and respectfully.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, preferably in architecture, engineering, or a related field. Candidates should be in their final semesters of study or have completed their degree. Knowledge of WASH principles and community engagement methodologies is also advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have a proven track record of working in humanitarian settings, particularly in roles related to housing, infrastructure, and WASH. Experience in complex and changing environments is essential, along with familiarity with community-based projects and participatory methodologies.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, and knowledge of English is considered an asset. Additional languages relevant to the local context may also be beneficial.
