Job Overview:
The position of Driver at the ILO Country Office in Dhaka is crucial for supporting the operational functions of the organization. The driver will be responsible for transporting staff and materials for official purposes, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of office vehicles. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of vehicle upkeep and compliance with safety regulations. The driver will work under the guidance of the Director of the ILO Country Office and the Programme Manager of the Labour Administration and Working Conditions (LAWC) Cluster, contributing to the overall mission of the ILO in Bangladesh. The position is fixed-term for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability. The driver will also assist with logistical and operational activities as needed, making this role integral to the smooth functioning of the office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The driver will perform a variety of duties including: driving office vehicles for official purposes, providing messenger services, and performing clerical support tasks such as collecting and delivering mail. The driver is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, which includes checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, and performing minor repairs. The driver must keep the vehicle clean and ensure compliance with insurance requirements. Additionally, the driver will maintain accurate records of vehicle use, including daily mileage, gas consumption, and service records. Other related duties may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess primary education and a valid driving license. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, as well as skills in minor vehicle repairs, are essential. Basic literacy in operating a computer is also required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety and compliance with traffic regulations, as well as the ability to follow instructions accurately and work cooperatively with others.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is primary education. Candidates must also hold a valid driving license and have a good understanding of driving regulations and vehicle maintenance.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of driving experience is required, with a proven safe driving record. Experience working as a driver in any UN system organization will be considered an advantage, as it demonstrates familiarity with the operational standards and expectations of international organizations.

Languages:
