Job Overview: The Integration Project Officer will play a crucial role in the 'Helios+: Comprehensive actions for the integration of third-country nationals into the labour market' project in the Region of Crete. This position involves working closely with national and local authorities, as well as experienced partners, to facilitate the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into Greek society. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing employability support, organizing Greek language courses, vocational training, and promoting social cohesion and inclusion. The role requires a proactive approach to monitor the progress of beneficiaries, conduct presentations, and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure that the needs of the beneficiaries are met effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Integration Project Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Providing information to eligible beneficiaries and enrolling them in the project.
Monitoring the integration progress of beneficiaries through individual sessions.
Conducting presentations to familiarize beneficiaries with the European Way of Life.
Organizing psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support sessions.
Informing beneficiaries about their social welfare rights, housing options, access to healthcare, and education services.
Referring cases needing specialized support to other actors.
Coordinating with other project units and relevant authorities to meet beneficiaries' needs.
Evaluating requests for exemptions from Greek language course attendance.
Ensuring accurate data entry and maintaining quality physical archiving of Means of Verification. 1
Coordinating with relevant stakeholders and regularly visiting designated Reception Facilities to present the project and enroll eligible beneficiaries. 1
Assisting beneficiaries in their search for apartments and performing relevant verification actions. 1
Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a combination of knowledge, education, training, and experience to perform the essential functions of the position. A valid driver's license with at least five years of driving experience is considered an advantage. Strong work ethics and a commitment to humanitarian principles are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and possess computer literacy in standard software applications.
Educational Background: A university degree in psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited academic institution is required, along with a minimum of three years of relevant work experience. A master's degree in the aforementioned fields will be considered an advantage. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience: Candidates should have at least three years of previous work experience in a relevant field. For social workers and psychologists, a professional license is required. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred, as it will enhance the candidate's ability to engage effectively with diverse beneficiaries.
Languages: Fluency in English and Greek (both written and oral) is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly IOM's official languages such as French and Spanish, is considered a plus and will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Greece will be eligible for consideration. The appointment will be contingent upon certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, visa, and necessary authorizations by the concerned government.
