Job Overview:
The Movement Operations Assistant (Field Support) plays a crucial role in the operational aspects of migration management, particularly in field support activities. This position is under the general supervision of the Senior Field and Programmes Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Senior Movement Operations Associate. The assistant is responsible for ensuring that individuals in transit receive the necessary support and services, including assistance at airports, transit centers, and third-party facilities. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication with various stakeholders, including service providers and individuals in transit. The assistant must maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to IOM's standards of conduct while providing support to vulnerable individuals, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their journey.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Movement Operations Assistant will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to: conducting field support activities at designated locations such as airports and transit centers; performing airport services including verification of travel documentation and assisting with airport formalities; providing assistance to individuals at transit centers, ensuring their needs are met during their stay; entering and updating data in relevant systems; coordinating transportation logistics; assisting with baggage handling; providing support for selection missions and exit permits; maintaining confidentiality and integrity of paperwork; and upholding IOM's protection mainstreaming standards. The assistant will also be responsible for communicating with supervisors about any issues that arise and participating in duty travel as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma with at least four years of relevant work experience, or a bachelor's degree in social science, International Relations, Regional Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution with two years of relevant work experience. Accredited institutions are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Previous experience in movement operations or transportation is strongly preferred. Candidates should also demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a high school diploma or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social science, International Relations, or Regional Studies. The degree must be from an accredited academic institution recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. The educational background should provide a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of migration management and the operational needs of the IOM.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in movement operations or transportation, which is strongly preferred. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage logistics, coordinate with various stakeholders, and provide support to individuals in transit. The level of experience required is two years for those with a bachelor's degree and four years for those with a high school diploma.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both oral and written. Additionally, oral and written fluency in Arabic is required based on operational needs. Proficiency in other languages, particularly French and Spanish, is considered an asset, as IOM's official languages include these. Language proficiency will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
This position is subject to local recruitment, meaning only candidates with a valid residence and work permit for Yemen will be considered. The appointment will be contingent upon medical fitness certification, verification of residency, and compliance with government regulations. The selection process may also be used to fill similar positions in various duty stations, and recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in similar roles for a period of 24 months.
