Job Overview: The Data Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the STRengthening Infectious Disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) project in the Philippines. This position involves maintaining and implementing monitoring and evaluation processes for the project, training program staff on performance indicators, and ensuring accurate data collection in targeted areas. The Data Specialist will also provide technical support, draft proposals, and develop training strategies. The role requires a proactive approach to managing multiple tasks and working collaboratively with various teams, ensuring that the project meets its objectives effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Data Specialist will assist in the development and dissemination of tools, materials, and reports for projects, ensuring quality control and assurance. They will contribute to the sharing of lessons and best practices, support work planning, and monitor project implementation according to standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include participating in client meetings, preparing Requests for Proposals, providing administrative support, and assisting in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports. The Data Specialist will also gather necessary data for reports, assist with technical troubleshooting, and ensure proper documentation of services rendered to clients.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in social science, Statistics, Public Health/Epidemiology, Data Science, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data collection, monitoring, evaluation, and capacity strengthening is required. Experience in a non-governmental organization, government agency, or private company is preferred. Proficiency in database management software and online search tools is essential, along with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as social science, Statistics, Public Health/Epidemiology, or Data Science. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of data management and evaluation processes necessary for the role.

Additional Notes: This position is based in Manila, Philippines, and may require domestic travel up to 25%. The role is full-time and does not have supervisory responsibilities.
