Job Overview:
As an Oracle Database Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and evolving the core Oracle database environments that support mission-critical systems. This position requires a hands-on approach to design, implement, and support enterprise-scale Oracle databases while also contributing to the transition towards Microsoft and Azure-based data platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of the Oracle database platforms, which includes high availability, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and resilience. Additionally, you will support Microsoft SQL Server environments and contribute to data warehousing solutions, making this role integral to the modernization journey of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale Oracle database environments, ensuring high availability and performance tuning. You will automate Oracle database operations through scripting and tooling, work closely with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners, and contribute to database architecture and platform design with a focus on security and scalability. You will also support Microsoft SQL Server environments, contribute to data warehousing solutions, and advise on database migration initiatives, particularly transitions from Oracle to Microsoft and Azure-based platforms. Furthermore, you will gain hands-on exposure to cloud database services such as Azure SQL Database and MongoDB.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong, hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Oracle databases, along with a solid understanding of Oracle database performance, resilience, and security. Experience working with managed service providers or delivery partners is essential, as is a working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and related BI tooling. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT pipelines is also required. A practical, automation-first mindset and an interest in cloud database platforms, particularly within Azure, are highly desirable.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have intermediate to advanced certification in Oracle, database, or cloud technologies. An ITIL Foundation certification or practical service management experience is also beneficial, as it aligns with the operational aspects of the role.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience in managing Oracle databases, with a strong emphasis on hands-on technical skills. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in structured enterprise environments and managing critical database platforms, as well as experience with cloud technologies and modern data architectures.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages is considered a plus, particularly those relevant to the regions in which the EBRD operates.

Additional Notes:
This is a fixed-term contract position with a duration of three years. The role is full-time and offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a minimum expectation of three days per week in the office.
