Job Overview:
The Resilient Shelter Coordinator / Technical Advisor I will play a crucial role in providing technical advice and coordination with government partners to support design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation in Urban Development. The coordinator will also support the development of agency-wide strategies and tools that engage various stakeholders, including partners, donors, and government entities, ensuring a cross-sectoral approach that integrates gender, protection, and disaster risk reduction.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Resilient Shelter Coordinator include providing technical solutions to Country Program (CP) teams and government partners, both remotely and on-site. The coordinator will lead the development and implementation of resilient land use and shelter planning processes, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards. Responsibilities also include advising project teams on integrating donor strategies into CRS’ approach, supporting capacity strengthening initiatives for staff and partners, and conducting training and workshops. The coordinator will collect and analyze program data, share lessons learned, and contribute to the Urban Resilience learning agenda. Additionally, the role involves maintaining relationships with donors and peer organizations, participating in forums to promote CRS’ work, and leading the development of climate-resilient proposals.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in urban development, Environmental Management, Nature-based Solutions, or a related field focused on Climate Resilience. A registered environmental planner is considered a plus. The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience with progressive responsibilities, ideally within an international NGO, and at least three years of field-based experience in Climate Resilience and urban development. Knowledge of technical principles in Urban Development and Resilience, as well as familiarity with climate change adaptation and mitigation, is essential. Experience in project design, proposal development, and program monitoring and evaluation is also required, along with strong networking skills and an understanding of partnership principles.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as urban development, Environmental Management, or similar disciplines related to Climate Resilience. This advanced degree is essential for understanding the complexities of urban planning and climate adaptation strategies necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, with a focus on progressive responsibilities in the field of Climate Resilience and urban development. Candidates should have experience working with international NGOs and possess field-based experience that demonstrates their ability to manage projects effectively and contribute to program design and implementation.

Languages:
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is crucial for effective communication with stakeholders, including government partners and donors. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.
