Job Overview: The position of Knowledge Management and Content Development Specialist at UNICEF's GSSC in Budapest is a temporary appointment for 364 days. The role focuses on managing knowledge assets that support key operational services such as Recruitment Administrative Services, Individual Consultancy Services, Travel Hub, and Remote Support. The specialist will ensure that these knowledge assets are accurate, accessible, and integrated into existing knowledge systems. The position requires a dynamic individual with experience in knowledge management and content development, emphasizing the importance of effective communication and stakeholder engagement. The specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing the operational efficiency of UNICEF's services by developing and coordinating content that meets the needs of various stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Knowledge Management and Content Development Specialist include:
Knowledge Asset Management: Overseeing the organization and maintenance of knowledge assets to ensure they are up-to-date and relevant.
Content Development & Coordination: Creating and coordinating content that supports operational services, ensuring clarity and accessibility for users.
System Integration & Maintenance: Working with IT teams to integrate knowledge management systems with existing platforms, ensuring seamless access to information.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with various stakeholders to gather insights and feedback on knowledge assets, ensuring they meet user needs and expectations.
Training and Support: Providing training and support to staff on the use of knowledge management tools and resources.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for improving knowledge management practices and implementing best practices across the organization.
Required Qualifications: The position requires the following qualifications:
Education: Completion of secondary education (high school degree) is required, supplemented with professional or university-level courses in Communication or Knowledge Management.
Experience: A minimum of seven years of experience in Knowledge Management, Content Development, Human Centered Design, Information Management, or Digital Communications is required. A bachelor's degree in related fields may replace three years of related work experience, while a master’s degree may replace an additional two years of work experience.
Skills: Solid computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email/internet, and familiarity with knowledge management platforms and content management systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including drafting and editing of technical content, are desirable.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma, with additional professional or university-level courses in Communication or Knowledge Management considered an asset. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred and can substitute for some work experience, while a master's degree can further reduce the required experience.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in Knowledge Management, Content Development, Human Centered Design, Information Management, or Digital Communications. Experience in Communications, Media, Learning & Development is highly desirable. The combination of education and experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of knowledge management practices and the ability to develop effective content.
Languages: Fluency in English (verbal and written) is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of an additional official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.
Additional Notes: This position is a temporary appointment for 364 days, and applicants must be nationals of EU countries or possess a valid long-term Hungarian work permit not sponsored by any employer at the time of application.
