Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer - Team Leader position involves overseeing the daily activities of enumerators engaged in data collection for the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) project. The role requires close collaboration with the Presidency of Migration Management (PMM) and entails ensuring adherence to data collection protocols and schedules. The Team Leader will conduct both quantitative and qualitative interviews with individuals from host and migrant communities, supervise the data collection process, and provide real-time feedback to enumerators regarding data quality. This position is crucial for promoting international cooperation on migration issues and ensuring that humanitarian assistance is effectively delivered to migrants in need. The Team Leader will report directly to IOM's Senior Project Associate and Field Coordinator, playing a vital role in the project's success.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the UN Volunteer - Team Leader include: overseeing the daily activities of enumerators, ensuring compliance with data collection protocols; assigning locations to enumerators and monitoring their progress; conducting quantitative and qualitative interviews in the field; supervising and being accountable for the data collection process; providing real-time feedback and guidance to enumerators on data quality issues; conducting field visits with Project Associates; utilizing established mobile data collection tools; submitting daily updates on progress, challenges, and observations; maintaining liaison with community members and local authorities for field access and coordination; and performing any other duties assigned by the direct supervisor. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively while ensuring high-quality data collection.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the UN Volunteer - Team Leader position should possess strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to oversee teams and ensure adherence to protocols. They should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and have a strong understanding of data collection methodologies. The ideal candidate will have experience working in migration or humanitarian contexts, with a focus on community engagement and collaboration with local authorities. Additionally, candidates should exhibit a commitment to the principles of inclusion, integrity, and professionalism, as outlined in IOM's core competencies.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required for the UN Volunteer - Team Leader position. Candidates should ideally hold a degree in social sciences, international relations, migration studies, or a related field. Experience:

Fluency in English is mandatory for the UN Volunteer - Team Leader position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Proficiency in Turkish is highly desirable, given the local context and the need to engage with community members and local authorities. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the migrant communities in the area would be considered an advantage, enhancing the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.

Additional Notes:
This position is a volunteer assignment, not employment, and candidates should be aware that the allowances provided are not to be understood as a salary or compensation for work. The monthly living allowance is USD 968, paid in Turkish Lira, and includes private health, dental, life, and dismemberment insurance coverage. An entry allowance of USD 10 is also provided. Candidates should arrange their own housing and living essentials.
