Job Overview: The Coordinator position within the Development and Outreach Department at Human Rights Watch's Paris office is a full-time role that encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting the organization's fundraising and outreach efforts in France. The Coordinator will report directly to the Development and Outreach Associate Director and will be expected to work from the office as needed, ensuring they are within commuting distance of the Paris office. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Coordinator include, but are not limited to: ensuring accurate and timely recording of all fundraising campaigns, appeals, gifts, and contact information on Salesforce; providing comprehensive administrative support such as scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and processing mail; coordinating logistics for outreach and cultivation events, including HRW's annual Voices for Justice dinner and other conferences; preparing, drafting, editing, and distributing various materials for internal and external use; acting as a liaison between departments and responding to inquiries; mentoring interns and assistants; conducting donor research; and performing additional tasks as required to support the team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience in communications, business administration, international relations, events management, or a related field. A minimum of two years of administrative experience and demonstrated success in coordinating events is required. Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to the wellbeing and inclusion of diverse staff, as well as a strong interest in international human rights.
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience in relevant fields such as communications, business administration, international relations, or events management is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of fundraising and outreach in the context of human rights advocacy.
Experience: The position requires at least two years of administrative experience, with a proven track record in event coordination. Candidates should have experience in office administration, community engagement, and/or philanthropy, demonstrating their ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and work effectively with various stakeholders.
Languages: Proficiency in both English and French is mandatory, with excellent reading, oral, and written communication skills in both languages being essential for the role.
