Job Overview:
The Youth Futures Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing educational and enrichment programming for the IRC’s Youth Futures After School and Summer Camp Programs. This position is responsible for leading a team composed of interns, volunteers, and part-time staff to ensure that the program adheres to best practices in teaching and tutoring, incorporates social-emotional learning principles, and achieves youth education goals through a holistic and collaborative approach. The coordinator will work closely with school staff, caregivers, and the youth themselves to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The role requires a proactive and solutions-driven individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people, particularly those from vulnerable backgrounds. The coordinator will be expected to implement effective program delivery, manage partnerships with educational institutions, and ensure that all program objectives are met while fostering a culture of collaboration and support among staff and participants.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Youth Futures Coordinator will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: overseeing the implementation and delivery of the IRC After School Program and Summer Camp at various school and community sites; building and maintaining partnerships with school districts, schools, and staff to ensure effective collaboration and administrative logistics; managing participant recruitment, retention, attendance, and family engagement; maintaining accurate records on program participants, attendance, and outcomes, including data entry into multiple required databases; preparing internal and external reports as required by funders; collaborating with the youth program supervisor to implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools and activities to assess program progress and achievements; supervising program staff in alignment with IRC’s People Management Standards, providing regular feedback and opportunities for professional development; overseeing volunteers and interns to support program administration and implementation; co-leading with part-time youth futures staff to plan and execute weekly workshops and lessons, enhancing and improving the current evidence-based curriculum; collaborating with Youth Program team members to assist students in planning for post-secondary education; and attending Youth Education Team meetings while fulfilling required administrative duties such as submitting and approving timesheets and expense reports.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Youth Futures Coordinator position must possess a Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, counseling, or a related field, or have equivalent work experience. A minimum of three years of experience working with English Language Learners is required, preferably in an instructional capacity. Teaching certification and experience within the public school system are considered advantageous. Additionally, prior experience in youth counseling, case management, or coaching, as well as experience working with refugee or immigrant populations, is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate competency in program planning and implementation, particularly in managing large groups of youth from diverse and vulnerable backgrounds. The ability to foster an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality is essential. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory, and proficiency in a language spoken by client populations is a plus.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, counseling, or a related field. The educational qualifications should provide a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of working with youth, particularly those from multicultural and vulnerable backgrounds.

Experience:
