Job Overview:
The Programme Administrative Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the effective implementation of UNFPA's programme activities within the Country Office. This position involves providing a range of administrative, financial, and procurement support to ensure smooth operations of the programme. The associate is expected to possess a strong understanding of UNFPA's administrative and operational guidelines and demonstrate a client-oriented approach. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including programme and project staff, to enhance the delivery of programme objectives. The associate will be responsible for managing day-to-day administrative tasks, tracking programme activities, and ensuring compliance with financial and operational procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Administrative Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: providing daily administrative and logistical support to programme teams, coordinating travel arrangements, managing event logistics, and processing procurement requests. The associate will assist in tracking programme implementation activities, ensuring timely follow-up on deliverables, and maintaining organized financial records. They will liaise with implementing partners for administrative needs, support the preparation of requisitions, and facilitate payroll-related tasks. Additionally, the associate will conduct field monitoring visits, assist in audit preparations, and supervise administrative staff as required. The role also involves developing tools for monitoring programme budgets and ensuring compliance with UNFPA's financial regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed Secondary Level Education, with a first-level university degree in public administration, business, social sciences, or a related field being desirable. A minimum of six years of relevant experience in administration, finance, or office management is required. Proficiency in office software applications and ERP financial systems is essential, along with a detailed understanding of clerical and administrative best practices. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as good writing and communication abilities, are necessary for success in this role. Previous experience in the UN system is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a completed Secondary Level Education as a minimum. A first-level university degree in fields such as public administration, business, social sciences, or a related area is preferred and will enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should possess at least six years of relevant experience in administration, finance, or office management. This experience should demonstrate proficiency in managing administrative tasks and understanding financial processes within a corporate or multicultural environment. Experience working in the UN system or similar organizations is advantageous and may provide candidates with a better understanding of the operational context of the role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other official UN languages is considered a valuable asset and may enhance a candidate's competitiveness for the role.
