Job Overview: The MEAL Enumerator position at IOM involves conducting monitoring of the organization's activities through both remote (telephone-based) and in-person interviews with beneficiaries, as well as direct observation. The role requires the collection of quantitative and qualitative data, participation in data entry, translation, and analysis, and supporting the implementation of accountability mechanisms. The Enumerator will work under the overall supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer and the direct supervision of the Senior M&E Associate. This position is crucial for ensuring that IOM's activities are effectively monitored and evaluated, providing valuable insights into the impact of the organization's work on migrants and communities. The Enumerator will be responsible for ensuring that data collection is conducted ethically and that beneficiary consent is obtained prior to interviews. The role also involves preparing monitoring reports and supporting the collection of beneficiary feedback during field visits, contributing to the overall accountability and effectiveness of IOM's programs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The MEAL Enumerator will undertake a variety of tasks, including: conducting in-person monitoring of IOM activities such as distributions, trainings, and awareness-raising sessions; administering quantitative and qualitative data collection for IOM projects; conducting interviews with beneficiaries via telephone and in-person; supporting the organization and facilitation of focus group discussions (FGDs); ensuring appropriate tools are used for data collection; managing M&E devices allocated for data collection; complying with interview requirements and ensuring beneficiary consent; following confidentiality and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security procedures; conducting initial data quality reviews; cleaning and analyzing collected data; preparing draft monitoring reports; collecting and documenting beneficiary feedback; conducting follow-up calls to beneficiaries; supporting information provision sessions; distributing visibility materials; and completing any other tasks assigned by line managers. The Enumerator will also perform other duties as required, demonstrating adaptability and professionalism in their approach.

Additional Notes: This position is a volunteer assignment, not an employment opportunity. The UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The monthly living allowance is USD 968.81, paid in Turkish Lira, along with additional allowances for entry and exit. The volunteer will also receive private insurance coverage for health, dental, life, and dismemberment. The assignment includes 2.5 days of annual leave accrued per calendar month and access to various learning platforms and the UN & UNV network. It is important to note that UNV assignments are not compensated as salaries, and an additional IOM security clearance may be required for shortlisted candidates.
