Job Overview:
The Project Associate (Asset and Logistic Management) will play a crucial role in the Activating Village Courts in Bangladesh Project (AVCB), which aims to enhance access to justice and social harmony for rural populations, particularly women and disadvantaged groups. This position involves managing the logistics and asset management aspects of the project, ensuring that all project assets, vehicles, and logistical needs are met efficiently and in compliance with UNDP and Government of Bangladesh regulations. The Project Associate will work under the guidance of the National Project Coordinator and Operations Analyst, coordinating closely with other project components and the UNDP Operations team. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, ensuring that project operations run smoothly and contribute to the overall objectives of the AVCB project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Associate will be responsible for a range of duties, including:
  • Efficiently managing project assets and vehicles, ensuring compliance with GoB and UNDP rules and procedures.
  • Supporting the planning, implementation, and management of project vehicles, office supplies, and logistics requirements.
  • Organizing annual physical verification of project equipment and assets across all project locations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of assets and tracking their movement in the Asset Management Database.
  • Facilitating the registration and renewal of project vehicles and motorcycles, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Participating in field visits to ensure proper maintenance of project assets.
  • Managing travel and transport logistics for project operations, including preparing cost-effective travel plans and supervising drivers.
  • Supporting inventory management and logistics arrangements, ensuring sufficient supplies are available for project needs.
  • Assisting in event organization and procurement processes for project-related materials. 1
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and best practices within the project and the wider UNDP community.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in vehicle and asset management, including logistics support, preferably within national or international development organizations. A secondary education is required, while a university degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typing skills in both Bangla and English, are essential. Experience in managing logistics for development projects and familiarity with UNDP's operational frameworks will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion, as well as a strong understanding of the operational requirements of international organizations.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is secondary education. However, candidates with a university degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field will be given preference. Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience for candidates with secondary education or 4 years for those with a bachelor's degree. Experience should include vehicle and asset management, logistics support, and familiarity with development projects, particularly in the context of international organizations or donor agencies. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing logistics effectively and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Bangla is required for this position.
