Job Overview:
The Associate Infrastructure Engineer will play a crucial role in the operation of the enterprise Windows Server infrastructure and the replenishment of servers in country offices. This position is situated within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit, which is integral to the World Bank Group's mission of eradicating extreme poverty and enhancing shared prosperity. The role involves managing and maintaining Windows Server environments, ensuring high availability and compliance with organizational standards. The engineer will also be responsible for deploying Windows servers both on-premises and in the cloud, performing regular patching, managing user accounts, and troubleshooting Windows operating systems. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams in a SAFe Agile environment to align infrastructure services with business goals, contributing to the overall digital transformation agenda of the World Bank Group.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Infrastructure Engineer will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities including: managing and maintaining enterprise Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) to ensure high availability and performance; deploying Windows servers using certified images; conducting regular patching of Windows operating systems; managing user accounts and permissions in Active Directory; overseeing NTFS and Share permissions on CIFS Shares; installing and monitoring infrastructure tools such as CrowdStrike and Splunk; troubleshooting Windows OS issues; and performing configuration and performance tuning. The engineer will also be responsible for implementing monitoring and alerting capabilities for Windows Server environments, managing Windows workloads in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI), and contributing to incident, problem, and change management processes. Additionally, the engineer will maintain detailed documentation for systems and procedures, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to World Bank Group policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required qualifications include extensive experience in Windows Administration, the ability to develop Infrastructure as Code templates using Terraform, and experience managing Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Clusters. Candidates should also have experience with Active Directory management, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and compliance for Windows servers, and familiarity with operating in SAFe Agile environments. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a diverse team environment are essential.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may substitute for some years of experience. Certifications in Operating Systems (Windows/VMware), SAFe DevOps (SDP), and ITIL 4 Intermediate are also preferred, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of 7 years in relevant fields for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5 years for those with a Master’s degree. Experience should include Windows Administration, managing cloud environments, and working within SAFe Agile frameworks. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of managing enterprise-level IT infrastructure and contributing to technology-driven projects.

The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required for the role.
