Job Overview: The Associate Infrastructure Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, development, implementation, and operation of enterprise storage and backup automation infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and OCI. This position is integral to supporting the World Bank Group's mission by ensuring that the IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and efficient. The engineer will be responsible for creating automated pipelines for provisioning, protection, recovery, replication, and lifecycle management of storage and backup systems. This role requires a combination of engineering and programming skills to develop solutions that meet the evolving needs of the organization while ensuring compliance and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards are met. The engineer will also collaborate with various technology teams to integrate cloud, automation, and security strategies, thereby enhancing the productivity and efficiency of IT operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate Infrastructure Engineer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Designing and implementing automated pipelines for storage and backup solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
Working with various storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and cloud-native services, to create standardized and scalable solutions.
Utilizing programming languages such as Python and others to develop automation scripts, APIs, and validation tests.
Implementing infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform and managing CI/CD workflows.
Administering Cohesity backup environments and ensuring effective disaster recovery planning and execution.
Monitoring and optimizing storage and backup performance, diagnosing issues, and implementing observability tools.
Leading implementations and migrations, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and providing capacity planning recommendations.
Maintaining high-quality documentation and handling incident management through ServiceNow.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in storage and backup engineering. Hands-on expertise with cloud storage services and backup solutions is essential. The candidate should also have strong programming skills, particularly in Python, and familiarity with infrastructure automation tools. Knowledge of security and compliance standards related to data protection is also required.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in a relevant field is required, along with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in a related area. The educational background should include a strong foundation in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, with a focus on storage and backup solutions.
Experience: The position requires significant experience in storage and backup engineering, with a minimum of 5 years for candidates with a Master's degree or 7 years for those with a Bachelor's degree. Experience with cloud environments and automation tools is highly desirable, as well as a proven track record of managing complex IT infrastructure projects.
