Job Overview:
The SRH Specialist position is crucial for providing programmatic and technical leadership in the Country Office (CO) regarding all aspects of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) humanitarian activities. This role involves planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on SRH initiatives in response to the ongoing crisis in Sudan. The SRH Specialist will coordinate the implementation of programs and lead the SRH sub-coordination" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">cluster coordination under the health sector response. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying SRH needs through rapid assessments and ensuring effective coordination among community and service delivery programs. The SRH Specialist will also supervise the CO staff within the SRH Unit, ensuring that all activities align with UNFPA's strategic objectives and humanitarian guidelines. This role is pivotal in enhancing the capacity of the organization to respond effectively to the SRH needs of crisis-affected populations, particularly in hard-to-reach areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The SRH Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: providing programmatic and technical leadership for the SRH humanitarian response; conducting rapid assessments of SRH needs; coordinating community and service delivery programs; leading the design and implementation of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for reproductive health; co-leading the SRH technical coordination group under the Health Cluster; mapping existing SRH services and analyzing barriers to access; developing innovative approaches to service provision; supporting procurement of emergency reproductive health kits and supplies; collaborating with the Cash and Voucher Assistance Specialist to ensure SRH services meet the needs of women and girls; maintaining relationships with health partners and stakeholders; developing proposals for funding; leading the development of humanitarian SRH briefs; monitoring SRH interventions; supporting capacity building for national and humanitarian actors; and performing any other duties as assigned by the Deputy Representative.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in medical sciences or public health, or equivalent qualifications. Additionally, a minimum of 7 years of working experience in reproductive health, preferably within the UN system or an international non-governmental organization (INGO), is required. Experience in coordinating and implementing the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for reproductive health is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to achieve results through effective team management. Strong analytical, coordination, and organizational skills are also necessary, along with a commitment to the mission of UNFPA and the principles of the United Nations.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in medical sciences or public health is required for this position. Equivalent qualifications may also be considered, provided they align with the responsibilities of the role and the organization's mission.

Experience:
The position requires at least 7 years of relevant working experience in the field of reproductive health. Candidates should have a strong background in coordination and implementation of reproductive health programs, particularly the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP). Experience in humanitarian settings and field operations is highly desirable, as is a demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex projects effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and for reporting purposes. A working knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, as it would facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the SRH Specialist's role in the Sudan context.
