Job Overview: The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the management of UNICEF’s online learning platform, which is based on the Moodle system. This position is essential for ensuring that the platform remains functional and user-friendly for professionals from 2,277 municipalities and 8 capitals in Brazil who are enrolled in UNICEF's initiatives. The consultant will be responsible for maintaining the courses on the platform, ensuring stability and a seamless navigation experience for users. This includes providing technical assistance to users facing challenges with course registration or certificate issuance. The consultant will also monitor course participation and completion rates, generating reports that detail user engagement and outcomes across various municipalities and professional sectors. The overarching goal is to enhance the learning experience and ensure that all courses are completed in a timely manner, aligning with UNICEF's educational methodologies.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's duties will include:
Keeping plugins and modules updated to ensure optimal performance of the learning platform.
Ensuring accurate data storage in the database and Moodle repository.
Troubleshooting and resolving server and application-level issues.
Verifying that emails and messages are sent correctly through the platform.
Creating customized reports based on specific demands from stakeholders.
Ensuring that online learning courses function properly and are accessible to all users.
Generating grades and certificates for each course accurately.
Configuring the correct MIME types for all file formats available on the platform.
Managing the creation and updates of courses, categories, and user accounts. 1
Implementing improvements to enhance the platform's functionalities. 1
Regularly fixing bugs to maintain platform integrity. 1
Providing detailed reports on course access and completion by user and profession for each municipality.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong technical skills related to online learning platforms, particularly Moodle. They should have experience in managing and maintaining e-learning systems, with a focus on user experience and technical support. The ability to analyze data and generate reports is essential, as is a proactive approach to problem-solving. Familiarity with educational methodologies and a commitment to supporting the professional development of users are also important. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills to effectively assist users and collaborate with UNICEF teams.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Education Technology, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in e-learning, instructional design, or a similar area will be considered an asset. Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in managing online learning platforms or similar roles is required. Experience working with educational institutions or organizations focused on child welfare and development will be advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, as the consultant will be working with professionals across Brazil. Proficiency in English or Spanish is considered a plus, as it may facilitate communication with international teams and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This consultancy position is remote, allowing the consultant to work from home using their own equipment. UNICEF will provide office space for meetings as necessary. The consultant's travel costs should be included in their fee. The contract will not commence until it is signed by both parties and all mandatory courses are completed. Consultants will not have supervisory responsibilities or authority over UNICEF's budget. The financial proposal must include all-inclusive fees, and payment will be contingent upon the successful submission of deliverables. The consultant is responsible for their own insurance and health coverage during the contract term. UNICEF maintains a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct and adheres to strict child safeguarding principles.
