Job Overview:
The Education Technical Assistant position is designed to support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of education activities within the South Area Office. The role emphasizes school-based interventions and field-level coordination, ensuring that educational programs are executed effectively and in alignment with NRC's policies and guidelines. The assistant will work closely with the Education Coordinator to organize and monitor various educational initiatives, contributing to the overall improvement of educational outcomes for children affected by conflict. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to promoting the rights of refugees and displaced individuals, ensuring that their needs are met in accordance with established standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Technical Assistant will have a diverse range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: adhering to NRC policies and guidelines, supporting the implementation of the education program portfolio, assisting in organizing and monitoring educational activities, preparing status updates and reports, maintaining accurate documentation, conducting school needs assessments, supporting the Better Learning Programme (BLP) activities, implementing cash for school activities, and providing administrative support. The assistant will also be responsible for regular field visits to monitor the progress of education activities, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders, and supporting the implementation of the Complaints and Feedback Response Mechanism (CFRM) at the field level. The role requires a strong focus on quality standards and timely reporting, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Child Protection, Social Sciences, or related fields. Additionally, experience working in the education sector in Ukraine is essential, with a preference for candidates who have experience in humanitarian or recovery contexts. Basic computer skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, are required. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment is crucial, along with a willingness to travel regularly to field locations. Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian is mandatory, while a working knowledge of English is also required.

Educational Background:
The position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Education, Psychology, Social Work, Child Protection, or Social Sciences. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by children in conflict-affected areas, as well as the skills needed to implement educational programs effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have experience working in the education sector, particularly in Ukraine. Experience in humanitarian or recovery contexts is considered an asset. The role also prefers candidates who have experience working with children, educators, or youth, as well as those who have liaised with local authorities and community stakeholders. Understanding the challenges faced by conflict-affected, displaced, returnee, and host community children is crucial for this position.

Languages:
Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian is required for this position, as these languages are essential for effective communication with stakeholders and beneficiaries. A working knowledge of English is also required, which will facilitate communication with international staff and documentation.
