Job Overview:
The successful candidate for the position of Assistant(e) de Projets Gestion des Frontières will work under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the National Project Officer for Immigration and Border Governance (IBG). This role involves providing technical support to the thematic program that aids border management authorities in Mauritania. The incumbent will be responsible for offering technical expertise and input into IBG projects at IOM Mauritania, focusing on the strategic development and implementation of human rights and protection approaches for migrants in the country. The position is based in Selibaby, where the candidate will collaborate closely with the border management team in Nouakchott and other units within the office. The role requires a proactive approach to managing border governance initiatives and ensuring effective communication and coordination with local authorities and partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant(e) de Projets Gestion des Frontières will have a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: serving as the focal point for border management at the IOM sub-office in Selibaby in coordination with IOM Nouakchott; assisting in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of activities and/or works by executing partners, service providers, and construction companies, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards; managing logistical follow-up for missions, training sessions, seminars, and border post launches in target regions, while maintaining effective coordination and communication with local authorities and partners; preparing and sending weekly reports to IOM Nouakchott and assisting in monitoring financial and logistical situations (security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, buildings, vehicles, equipment, etc.) at the sub-office; ensuring visibility for IOM and project donors on-site; conducting field visits for needs assessments, progress monitoring, and results evaluation, including identifying and liaising with governmental and non-governmental partners; actively contributing to the drafting of reports on the progress of activities implemented by the sub-office; assisting in coordinating missions from IOM Nouakchott, donors, and other stakeholders; maintaining direct follow-up with consultants on-site; attending meetings with various governmental partners, including drafting minutes and ensuring any necessary follow-up post-meeting; and performing any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong interest in migration-related topics, particularly in border management. Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree in Sociology, Law, International Affairs, Communication, Security, or a similar field. The minimum qualification is a BAC+6 with six years of professional experience, or a bachelor's degree with four years of professional experience.
