Under the supervision of the Supervisor of the Technical Support Group and guidance from the Electro-Technician Foreman, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems function correctly and efficiently. This role involves not only routine maintenance and repairs but also the upgrading of electrical installations to meet evolving laboratory standards. The Electro-technician will engage in preventive maintenance initiatives, ensuring that all systems are up to date and functioning optimally. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with other technical staff and external contractors to minimize disruptions to laboratory operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Electro-technician will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: maintaining, repairing, and upgrading electrical equipment; checking the operation and condition of various systems to detect faults; repairing high-precision electrical components; monitoring and coordinating with contracting firms to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance work; conducting preventative maintenance activities; upgrading technical infrastructures as required by laboratory programs; conducting in-house workshops; maintaining inventory stocks; completing necessary documentation in the absence of the supervisor; assisting colleagues in other areas as needed; and participating in on-call maintenance schemes. Additionally, the role may involve exposure to radioactive materials, necessitating medical clearance and adherence to radiation safety regulations.
