Job Overview:
The Senior Security Guard plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of FAO staff, visitors, premises, and assets. This position is essential for ensuring a secure work environment that allows FAO to effectively implement its activities. The Senior Security Guard is responsible for a variety of routine duties that contribute to the overall security framework of the organization. This includes monitoring access to FAO premises, conducting patrols, and responding to security-related incidents. The role requires a proactive approach to security, ensuring that all safety measures are adhered to and that any irregularities are reported promptly. The Senior Security Guard will work closely with other security personnel and will be expected to provide guidance and support to junior staff when necessary. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Security Guard's duties include but are not limited to: receiving personal documents and issuing building passes and parking permits; responding to routine inquiries and providing information or redirecting as appropriate; maintaining up-to-date directories; receiving and logging mail after normal business hours; leading patrols in assigned areas, including parking areas; detaining and accompanying individuals acting unlawfully to the Security Supervisor; controlling entry to FAO premises by verifying building passes; ensuring security measures are observed at entrances/exits; maintaining continuous surveillance against fire, water leakage, and dangerous objects; performing prescribed safety measures; receiving VIP visitors and providing appropriate security assistance; managing lost and found items; monitoring the internal alarm system and surveillance cameras; alerting emergency staff as needed; and performing other related duties as required. The Senior Security Guard's actions directly impact the safety and security of the clients served and the overall work unit.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school education and have a minimum of four years of experience with a national or international police force, armed forces, a private security organization, fire brigade, or security service of a large organization. Experience in a position requiring high security, confidentiality, and total integrity is essential. Candidates should also have a working knowledge of English and Italian, as well as basic IT skills, including knowledge of MS Office applications and office technology equipment.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a secondary school education. This foundational education is crucial for understanding the responsibilities and duties associated with security operations and protocols.

Experience:
Candidates are required to have at least four years of relevant experience in security roles, which may include work with police forces, military, private security firms, or other organizations where security and confidentiality are paramount. Languages:
A working knowledge (proficiency - level C) of both English and Italian is mandatory for this position.
