Job Overview:
The Team Leader for MNCH and Nutrition will oversee programmatic activities related to maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and nutrition within the EpiC project. This role involves collaborating with technical experts and implementing partners to enhance lifesaving services in the Karnali, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim regions of Nepal. The Team Lead will be responsible for developing work plans, ensuring budget tracking, and implementing subprojects while maintaining effective monitoring and evaluation practices. The position requires strong leadership skills to coordinate efforts across various stakeholders, including government entities and local partners, to ensure the successful execution of health interventions. The Team Lead will also be tasked with analyzing program data to inform improvements and will represent FHI 360 in external functions as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Leader will be responsible for a wide range of duties including: developing and overseeing project work plans in collaboration with finance for budget tracking; designing and implementing subprojects while ensuring compliance with monitoring and evaluation standards; coordinating with program and technical staff to ensure efficient project implementation; tracking progress on subprojects and providing regular updates to provincial coordinators; assisting in data analysis for program improvement; conducting supportive supervision and monitoring visits to implementing partners; crafting scopes of work for subawards; preparing program-related reports and documentation; contributing to communication materials and training curricula; supervising Technical Officers; and leading the program team in the absence of another team leader. The role also involves addressing safeguarding and compliance issues as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in public health, social science, behavioral science, epidemiology, or a related field, along with five years of relevant experience in program management, MNCH, nutrition, or development programming. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with seven years of relevant experience is acceptable. Proven experience in program development, grant management, and the ability to lead a team with minimal supervision are essential. Familiarity with international NGO management processes and US Government funding requirements is also required. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in data-driven decision-making are critical for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in public health, social science, behavioral science, epidemiology, or a related field is required. A Bachelor’s degree may be considered if accompanied by extensive relevant experience. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in health programming and management principles, equipping candidates with the necessary skills to effectively lead and implement health initiatives.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in program management, specifically in MNCH and nutrition or related fields. Experience with international organizations and familiarity with the requirements of US Government funding are crucial. The ability to manage high-volume workflows and multiple tasks across various programmatic areas is essential, along with experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems for large-scale health programs.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Nepali is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
