Job Overview:
The position involves supporting the Talent Development Unit (TDU) at the Office of Human Resources (OHR) within UNDP. The TDU is responsible for fostering a culture of continuous learning and talent development across UNDP. The selected online volunteer will assist in designing and implementing programs and processes that enhance learning ecosystems and stimulate innovation. The role is aligned with the People Development Strategy 2026-2029 and aims to embed learning as a core aspect of UNDP's operations. The volunteer will conduct research on emerging trends and innovative approaches in skills development and organizational learning, particularly focusing on the application of Artificial Intelligence in these areas. The final deliverables will include structured research documents summarizing industry practices and AI applications relevant to UNDP's learning agenda.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The online volunteer will be responsible for conducting desk-based research to analyze emerging trends and good practices in skills development, organizational learning, and digital learning. Specific tasks include: 1) Creating a Research Summary Document that presents an overview of 10 industry leaders in learning and development, highlighting their good practices and key insights relevant to UNDP's priorities. 2) Developing a Summary Document on AI Application in Trends Research, providing an example of how an AI-based tool can identify and map learning and development innovations. The volunteer is expected to provide weekly updates on their progress and contribute 6-10 hours of research support per week.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information from various sources. Familiarity with trends in learning and development, as well as experience in organizational learning, is highly desirable. The volunteer should demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and possess excellent written communication skills to effectively present research findings.

Educational Background:
A background in education, human resources, organizational development, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of learning methodologies and adult education principles, as well as familiarity with digital learning tools and platforms.

Experience:
While specific years of experience are not mandated, candidates should have relevant experience in research, particularly in the context of learning and development. Experience in using AI tools for research purposes would be an advantage, but not a requirement.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all research and documentation will be conducted in English. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not required for this position.
